Suzie McCheyne: Rail 74 CRP
- Reminded the group that a new treasurer was required. She was happy to do the accounts, but a Treasurer was required for governance purposes. Please share any interested people for a chat.
- Rail safety live learning had been funded by us and has engaged with over 5000 school children in S Lanarkshire, within a 10-mile radius of the rail stations.
- Finalised feedback report for Scotrail for travelling classroom phase 2 and sounds like a volunteer.
- Looking at rail74 account possible to maybe fund some local orgs with small projects under to £7k in the pot.
- CRN awards – submitted hope in Hamilton however not shortlisted.
- Looking for support from ScotRail media team potentially to volunteer with Rail74 CRP to help comms and awareness.
- Updating mural at Rutherglen station linked to Rutherglen 900 and upcoming repairs to station infrastructure.
- AP1 – Discuss detail of breathing space bench in Rutherglen or newton with Arlene
Rose H: Newton
- Workshops arranged with herbal homestead and to be advertised. Looking for as many volunteers as possible to join in.
- Carol singing on 16 December, at garden was a great success and over 30 people attended.
Arlene: Samaritans
- Brew Monday on 20th January encouraged all to take part
- Small talks Saves lives campaign – will be going to Motherwell / agreed happy to support just waiting on dates
- Good intro to Marc from healthy n happy regarding hope in community project looking at raising awareness of suicide prevention, capacity building in communities through peer support and more open talk.
Alex: Cross Country
- Looking at another service leaving from Glasgow advised happy to share from rail74
- Still funding available for CRP and other projects in the communities
- Committed to securing core funding for CRPs in the future.
- Continuing to receive update for nature at newton project – thank you to Suzie
James Ledgerwood: ScotRail
- Continuing to work with chosen charity of Age Scotland
- Ticketless travel project 2022 8% now in 2024 up to 54%
- New way of recording footfall on the trains moving away from ORR
- Rail 200 campaign involved in promotion for reduced ticket costs and also educational train museum in oct 2025.
