Updates
A. Development Officer
- Shortlisted for 5 community awards — SMcC won CRP partnership award. Shortlisted for Community & partnership awards.
- New funding for podcasts/ QR code partnership project re volunteer experience to encourage others to participate- FH to assist.
- Travelling classrooms — follow up feedback submitted to Scotrail. Part2 funding expected, once Scotrail has reviewed the feedback.
- Soil to slice — making bread with Grow73 & greening Camglen. Hoping to get involved at Rutherglen station platforms- planters with wheat. Funding awaited.
- Victoria Moore — new trustee- meeting scheduled with NW on 15th November.
- SMcC — St Charles primary school at Newton — involved with nursery children to sing Christmas carols. SMcC also mentioned a potential trip for the primary children to central station, subject to tickets from Scotrail.
Hope in Hamilton update
Network Rail’s landlord consent may not be correct, as despite what was previously stated, the supporting wall may not be strong enough.JW is connecting with James Ledgerwood of Scotrail to apply pressure to enable progress as its over 18 months since the work was finished. The previously agreed means of getting the work on site is under question.
Various
- Eugenie- Grow 73- Burgh primary school are happy to get involved. In 2026 it is Rutherglen’s 900th anniversary. A committee has been convened about how to celebrate it and Rail 74 should be involved in some way.
- JW- Formal acceptance by Scotrail Holdings of the extension of the CRP to include Motherwell
Next meeting: 21/02/23 @2pm @ LEAP café, Cambuslang
- JB-Main Street of Rutherglen to be redeveloped – Consultation in the New Year. Also funding opportunities plus partnership potential with Clyde Gateway. May have potential to redevelop the overhead walkway at Rutherglen in conjunction with them and Network Rail?
- NW- the station adopters of Cambuslang have planted winter bedding
