Attendees: Victoria Moore – Chair, Suzie McCheyne – Development Officer, Nigel Wunsch – Vice Chair/cambuslang station adopter, Fraser Hamilton – Volunteer, Matthew Worman – Avanti, Lucie Maix – Volunteer, Rose Hewitt – Station adopter Newton.

Updates

A. Development Officer

  1. Sounds like a Volunteer project started planning stage. Recording to commence end of Jan/early Feb with podcast editing to be completed by March 2024. Involve Fraser for experience and website links.
  2. Met with Richard Cairns and John McQuarrie from Scottish Rail Holdings in Cambuslang.
  3. Travelling Classrooms — Part 2 funding received restart project Feb 2024. Ensure all partners are given flyer to come aboard & join in.
  4. Took kids from High Flyers nursery in Newton on the train to Glasgow central. Completed some rail safety and sang Xmas songs on the train. The kids, passengers and staff loved it. Great smiles all round.
  5. Annual impact report nearly complete to share with funders/partners. AGM into March/April
  6. SLC tourism dept looking to fund days out leaflet of accessible detail for train journeys along the line as requested by National Autistic Society South Lan in previous discussions.
  7. Sending out questions in advance of partners innovation session in Feb to scope out new projects for 2024/2025.

Hope in Hamilton update

Awaiting update – Planned roundtable with key stakeholder supported by Caroline from CRN.

Various

  • RH – keen to get back to newton station in the spring – link up St. Charles, high flyers and Lucie for some partnership projects.
  • LM – happy to be involved as new volunteer, suzie will link to rose/Nigel at Newton/cambuslang adopters & also events management interest.
  • FH – keen to be involved in the sound record side of the Sounds Like a Volunteer project.

Next meeting: 20th February 2024 – 1pm No 18 Healthy and Happy Rutherglen
